Surprise! Cupcakes
A list of ingredients you will need:
Cupcakes:
1 1/2 cups - all-purpose flour
1 cup - Domino® Granulated Sugar
1/4 cup - unsweetened cocoa
1 teaspoon - baking soda
1/4 teaspoon - salt
1 cup - buttermilk
1/2 cup - butter or margarine, melted
1 - egg, lightly beaten
Surprises!:
whole maraschino cherries, drained OR unwrapped caramels, chocolates, mint patties OR pecan or walnut halves
Frosting:
2 cups - Domino® Confectioners Sugar
1/4 cup - butter or margarine, softened
1/4 cup - unsweetened cocoa
3/4 teaspoon - vanilla
2 to 3 tablespoons - milk
Colored sprinkles (optional)
Colored jellybeans (optional)

Preheat oven to 375°F. Grease 18 medium muffin cups or line with paper baking cups.
Combine flour, sugar, cocoa, baking soda and salt in a small bowl; mix well. Add buttermilk, butter and egg; blend just until dry ingredients are moistened.
Fill muffin cups 1/3 full. Place a "surprise" in center of each, pressing down slightly. Top with remaining batter, filling cups 2/3 full.
Bake 17 to 22 minutes or until top springs back when lightly touched. Cool.
Combine frosting ingredients in a small bowl; mix well, adding enough milk to desired spreading consistency. Spread on cooled cupcakes. Decorate as desired, with sprinkles or jellybeans.
Makes 18 cupcakes.
