Cast Iron Dutch Oven and Skillet
Cook your meals right over the campfire! Outdoor cooks have favored seasoned cast iron for hundreds of years for its versatility and durability. Stews, meats, and even desserts… prepare a wide range of campsite classics in a three-footed cast iron Dutch oven with lid or cast iron skillet.
Melamine Dinnerware Set
Embrace the “carry-in – carry-out” mentality with Melamine dinnerware sets. Designed for outdoor dining, these shatterproof plates, bowls, and utensils are lightweight enough to carry in your pack and are available for purchase in a wide range of stylish patterns.
Stainless Steel Cutlery, Straws, and Mugs
Chow down with stainless steel dinnerware. Avoid creating waste with one-time use cutlery by bringing your own stylish set that you will use for years to come. Throw a few double-walled stainless steel mugs in your rucksack as a versatile campsite staple. Prepare everything from your morning cup of joe to a hearty cup of brown sugar baked beans in the mugs! For an extra eco-friendly touch, add stainless steel straws to your kit and leave Mother Nature smiling.
Mason Jars with Lids
Our new favorite campsite essential! Mason jars are beautiful for serving everything from yogurt parfaits and granola to homemade craft cocktails. Screw-top lids make food storage simple. Just a few twists and pop it in the cooler for safekeeping!
Premium Marshmallow Roasting Sticks
Take your marshmallow game to the next level. The whole family will go crazy for these telescoping stainless steel forks. Safely handle marshmallows and other toasty treats around the campfire with extendable handles and non-sharp prongs that ensure you are a good distance from the heat. The only debate remaining is whether you like your marshmallows lightly browned or blackened and crispy!
Cast Iron Camp Cooker
Also known as a pie iron or pie maker, the hinged camp cooker is a handy tool for making sandwiches and grilled meats over the campfire. All you need is a few pieces of bread and your favorite fillings. Try it with our Peach Sammies recipe!
Other must-haves for your campsite-cooking list:
- Lighters and matches
- Wood skewers for kabobs
- Foil, plastic wrap, and compostable plates
- Ice packs & coolers for storage
Food Storage & Prep
No refrigerator on site? Be sure to keep your perishable camping food stored in a cooler with plenty of ice packs to maintain a temperature less than 41 F. If possible, travel with ingredients frozen so they help keep other ingredients cold, too. Always store clean ice for beverages in a separate cooler.
Pre-cut and trim as much as possible in advance to respect “leave no trace” camping. Use disposable foil, plastic wrap, and compostable plates as safe cutting and preparation surfaces for meat and other high protein ingredients. Makes clean-up easy, reduces risk of contamination, and facilitates either disposal on-site or minimizes your waste for parks with “carry in – carry out” policies.
Happy camping!
