Prep Time : 20 minutes / Cook Time : 24 hours / Yields: 8 small or 4 larger soap bars
Step 1
Using a natural bar soap or solid soap base, grate the remaining into a saucepan.
Step 2
Melt together the soap gratings with the coconut oil over medium heat, stirring regularly.
Step 3
Gently stir in the light brown sugar.
Step 4
Remove from heat and stir in the essential oils.
Step 5
Fill the finished mixture into your soap molds. I use an ice tray or larger silicone ice mold. You can also choose fun molds for special occasions.
Step 6
Let set overnight and gently remove from molds.
Step 7
Get creative with wrapping! You can use brown paper and twine, printed wrapping paper or your favorite ribbon and sprig of rosemary!
Additional Tip:
- Essential oils should be used minimally. The light brown sugar allows for a gentle, non-abrasive exfoliation. For those with sensitive skin, omit essential oils from the recipe.
